Kamandalu Resort (Ubud - BALI)

Me and my just-married-husband went to Kamandalu Resort in Ubud area, Bali.

We found this place for the internet site www.weddingku.com, which have a very nice options of honeymoon destinations for us- newly weds, to choose from. And among those many choices, I pick Kamandalu resort.


The resort is about 1 hour drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar, Bali). We was picked up by hotel's transportation. On our way to Ubud area, we stop by a traditional restaurant and tried a food they called LAWAN for lunch. This is a traditional Balinese dish.

There's a soup and the plate is filled with combination of pig meat in about 3 different taste, plus other stuff like 'pig blood', crispy skin, and there's also a combination of vegetables like gado2.. but it tastes more like an "urap" to me. hehe..
The total taste, I must say.. OK! One should try this when they visit Bali.
Next, we check in to our sweet hotel Kamandalu resort. It's a very nice and cozy hotel, the service is very very nice. The view inside their complex is very beautiful as well, you can say that this hotel is very nicely designed and well managed by its people. The pool is very clean and nice too ( Too bad we don't have a chance to dive in.. )
The villa, I was staying at the garden villa, is big, clean and beautifully designed as well. They have a "bale bengong" for those who want to enjoy the view of rice fields while taking a very relaxing rest, or just reading a book. What I love most is the outside shower. Beautiful.. :)
Breakfast and dinner was also well cooked, and prepared nicely. Me and my hubby have a chance to experience their romantic dinner by the pool. Well, yeah.. it's romantic. A dinner by the moonlite, with candles around u.
For sightseeing, you can take their free shuttle service to Ubud down town, and from there, you can choose to browse the shops around there by walking, or you can hire a taxi with bargain rate.. and go somewhere further.
We visited Goa Gajah, Pura Tampak Siring, then went up to Kintamani to watch Gn. Batur. Then we went for some shopping on our way back to Ubud. Lastly, we went to see the Monkey Forrest.
Oh ya, when you have a time, you should also try SPA from the hotel.. and maybe try to take a trip down to Petulu River (arranged by hotel, free of charge). U can also do cycling.. Just do whatever you feel like doing..
Ubud area.. rich with arts. Those who love arts, will find this place a heaven. ^-^
For me and my hubby, it's a very nice honeymoon trip. And we would love to repeat it again.. hehehe.....

The beautiful "Ujung Genteng" Beach

Waktu pertama kali diajakin ama temen2 gue di Lautan Luas dulu.. gue kira mereka becanda. Abis namanya itu loh.. Ujung Genteng ! Tapi emang bener2 itu namanya.. Lokasinya di ujung bawah Jawa, masih masuk wilayah Sukabumi gitu. Kalo di petanya, dari Jakarta lurus.. (ada kelok2nya lah kalo actual dijalanin.. hehehe) terus ampe mentok ke bawah. Lewatin Pelabuhan Ratu kira-2 2 jam perjalanan lagi with cars. Total waktu perjalanan kira2 6-7 jam deh dari Jakarta. Jauh yaaaa... tp once you got there, it's worth every mile ! Pertama kali gue kesana tahun 2001, bulan Agustus, pas liburan 17 Agustus. Waktu itu ama anak2 LTL.. that time, I was a new girl in LTL.. baru 2 minggu masuk boo.. how lucky I joined them to this beautiful beach. Pantai satu ini.. pantai yg paling bersih yg gue pernah liat. Airnya jernih banget, and kalo lo lagi hoki, lo bisa berenang di kelilingin ikan2 kecil. Pasirnya putiiih dan bersih banget. Solo, Central Java

Tgl 27-30 Juli 2006, kantor gue ngadain jalan2 .. piknik n outbound ke Solo. It turned out to be a nice trip loh.., waktu berangkatnya naik bus dari Cimanggis ke Stasiun Gambir, lalu naik kereta Argo Lawu jam 8 menuju ke Stasiun Solo Balapan. Perjalanan keretanya cukup lumayan melelahkan, kita start jalan jam 8 malem, makan malem di kereta pake nasi kotak yg disediain panitia, lalu tidur2an bentar. Jam 9-an ampir jam 10 gitu, dibangunin ama panitia buat main 3 games kecil. Lumayan seru, n masing2 orang menang 1 batang coklat. :p Abis 3 game itu, rencananya mo tidur bablas ampe Solo.. kalo bisa tidur.. eh ternyata, lagi pules2nya tidur, jam 12 malem teng, ada yg nyanyi "Happy Birthday to you.." kenceng bener.. alhasil orang 1 gerbong bangun semua. Ternyata ada yg ultah, Mbak Zara dari BIP. Bete juga sih, karena dah tidur enak2, posisi dah pas, eh dibangunin kaget gitu. Tp anyway, gue akhirnya bisa tidur lagi.
